Who we are

Logcove is a log collection and local exploration service operated by Fei Long, an individual developer trading as Logcove. Fei Long is responsible for the personal information we process to manage accounts and operate our service. This policy covers logcove.com, app.logcove.com, our API, and our official client tools. For privacy questions or requests, contact support@logcove.com.

Information we process

When you create an account, we process your name, email address, authentication information, and session records. Email/password accounts use a password hash. If you sign in with Google or GitHub, we receive account identifiers and profile information, including your email address, from that provider; we do not receive your Google or GitHub password.

We store the logs you upload, Project settings, write-key authentication records, saved Chart definitions (including SQL and Vega-Lite specifications), and usage totals. Logs may contain personal information, such as IP addresses or user identifiers, depending on what you send. Support messages contain the information you choose to share with us.

We and our infrastructure providers may process connection and diagnostic information, such as IP addresses, request timestamps, browser details, and errors, to operate and secure the service. When paid subscriptions are available, we also process subscription status, billing identifiers, and transaction records. Creem processes payment details; Logcove does not store your full card number.

How we use information

We use this information to authenticate you, collect and deliver your logs, save your settings and Charts, enforce usage limits, manage subscriptions, answer support requests, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information. Where data protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on performing our contract with you, legitimate interests in operating and protecting the service, legal obligations, or consent where required.

Cloud storage and local analysis

Local analysis does not mean your logs never leave your device: Logcove collects and stores them in the cloud before you download them. Browser previews and Charts download log files and run calculations on your device. CLI downloads are stored in the location you choose.

If you use Codex, Claude Code, or another external agent, that tool may send prompts, log excerpts, query results, or other information to its model provider according to its settings. You control your choice of tools and what you share; those providers have their own privacy policies. Logcove does not require an external AI agent to analyze downloaded files.

Cookies and device storage

We use session cookies and local device storage for authentication and application functionality. The browser may cache downloaded log files to avoid repeated downloads. CLI credentials are stored using the client's configured credential storage. You can clear browser site data or remove local downloads, but doing so may sign you out or require files to be downloaded again. Cloud deletion does not remove copies you downloaded or shared with another tool.

Service providers and disclosure

We use Cloudflare for our website, API, account database, object storage, and email services, and Vultr for production log collection infrastructure. Google and GitHub provide optional sign-in. Customer support correspondence may be handled through Google's email service. When payments open, Creem acts as Merchant of Record and processes payments, taxes, and related billing matters.

These providers process information needed for their services. We may also disclose information when legally required, to protect the service or others, or as part of a business transfer subject to applicable data protection obligations. Providers may process information outside your country; applicable safeguards and legal requirements govern those transfers.

Retention and deletion

Uploaded log files are available for up to 90 days from upload. Expired files become inaccessible through Logcove and are scheduled for deletion from cloud storage; physical deletion can occur later as storage lifecycle processing completes. Logcove is not a permanent backup service.

Account information and saved Project and Chart metadata are kept as needed to provide the service. Support, security, billing, and legal records may be retained as needed for their purposes and applicable obligations. The 90-day log retention period is not a blanket deletion period for all account or billing records.

You can contact support@logcove.com to request account or personal-data deletion. We may verify your identity and retain information required by law or necessary to resolve disputes and protect the service. Archiving a Project or deleting a write key is not a request to delete all previously uploaded logs.

Your choices and rights

You can download your available logs and manage account and Project settings through the service. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, restrict, or object to processing of your personal information, withdraw consent, and complain to a data protection authority. Send requests to support@logcove.com. If your information appears in logs uploaded by another customer, contact that customer; we can help them respond as required.

Your responsibility for uploaded logs

You decide what to collect and upload and must have the right to process that information. Where you act as a data controller for information in your logs, you remain responsible for the appropriate notices and legal basis; we process those logs to provide the service. Avoid uploading passwords, private keys, payment-card details, or other unnecessary sensitive information.

Security, age, and changes

We use access controls and encrypted connections to protect information, but no service can guarantee absolute security. Keep your credentials and downloaded logs secure. Logcove is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 18.

We may update this policy as the service changes. We will publish the updated policy and date here and provide additional notice for material changes when required. Contact support@logcove.com with any questions.
